Memorial Day Flag Placement – A Tribute of Honor and Gratitude

As we approach Memorial Day, we invite you to take part in one of our most meaningful traditions—our annual Flag Placement in honor of the men and women who have served our country.

Each year, this special tribute is made possible through the dedication of our volunteers, who walk the cemetery grounds placing flags at the graves of veterans. We warmly encourage families, parish groups, and individuals of all ages to join us in this act of remembrance. It is a beautiful way to give back, reflect, and ensure that those who served are honored with dignity and respect.

We would like to gently remind families that flags are placed by volunteers—not cemetery staff. Volunteers carefully walk the grounds, looking for military service designations on individual markers. While every effort is made to honor each veteran, it is never our intention to miss anyone.

To assist in this process, “Veteran” indicator stickers are available in our office for placement on memorials. In the unfortunate event that a veteran’s grave does not receive a flag, additional flags will be available in the office vestibule for families to place.

Your participation and understanding help make this tradition possible. Together, we ensure that no sacrifice is forgotten and every hero is remembered.
