Alice May Cochran-Young, age 88 of Canton, passed away suddenly on April 27, 2026. She was born on May 13, 1937, in Chicago, Illinois to the late Francis and Hazel Snider.
Her faith was an integral part of her life. She was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church of Canton.
She was a dedicated educator/school counselor for Canton South Schools. She was also an avid Guardians, Cavaliers, and Browns fan and loved playing all types of cards.
In addition to her parents, Alice is preceded in death by her husbands, Lance Cochran and Alvah Young Jr.; sisters, Kathryn Garcia and Joan Nicole; and a nephew.
She is survived by Alvah Young III and Christina Young, and many loving cousins, nieces, and friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, May 15, 2026, at 11:00 AM at St. Michael Catholic Church with Fr. Edward Beneleit as celebrant. She will be laid to rest in Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Alice’s memory to a charity of your choosing.
