Thomas Michael Carracher

Thomas Michael Carracher, age 64 of Massillon, Ohio

On September 16, 1958, Thomas Carracher came into this world and made it a better place with his smile and gentle spirit. He was born to Dorothy R. (Kenny)Carracher and the late SFC (RET) Francis J. Carracher.

In the early hours of Tuesday, November 29th, he passed away peacefully at Timken Mercy Medical Center surrounded by his siblings Ben Rudo, Dorothy Davis and Irene Kistler, along with brothers-in law Todd Davis and Greg Kistler.

Thomas was a proud member of the Massillon Knights of Columbus Council #554, and enjoyed attending mass at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Canton.  He was a longtime resident of McKinley Health Care Center in Canton, Ohio, and was a volunteer at Foundation Respite.   The family extends their deepest gratitude to the staff for their love and support of Thomas.

He loved making others laugh. He always had a quip at the ready to brighten anyone’s day and most memorably, during his senior year at Canton Central Catholic, he dressed up and performed as a cheerleader during a pep rally. Football was his favorite sport and he loved attending Massillon Tiger games with family members.

Thomas is once again reunited with his Dad and sharing stories with his many loved ones who precede him. He is survived by his mother, Dorothy Carracher of Massillon, his brother and sister-in-law Ben Rudo and M. Wylie of North Canton, his sister and brother-in-law Dorothy and Todd Davis of Medina and his sister and brother-in-law Irene and Greg Kistler of San Antonio, Texas, and longtime girlfriend, Sharon Guht. He was also a beloved uncle to Colleen, Drew, Larry, Austin, Katie and Mary Kate.

Calling hours to celebrate the life of Thomas Carracher and share love with his family will be held on December 15th from 5:00 - 7:00 pm at Heitger Funeral Home - Jackson Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on December 16th, 2022, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Massillon at 10:30 am. A burial will immediately follow, and Thomas will rest alongside his father at Calvary Cemetery in Massillon, Ohio.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Mary's St. Vincent DePaul Society.
