Joan R. (Stoner) Scarfone

Joan R. (Stoner) Scarfone age 93 of Canton, passed away early Monday. Born in Massillon to the late G Howard and Mary (Bailey) Stoner.

Joan was preceded in death by her husband Bernard J. “Moose” Scarfone, Jr., daughter Mary Susan Tennill, brothers Robert and Paul Stoner, and sister Miriam Ackerman.

She was a 1947 graduate of Massillon Washington High School. Joan was a member of Christ the Servant Parish, a member of the church's Ladies Guild and an avid bridge player.

Prior to their retirement in 2000, Joan and her husband worked side by side, running the family business, the Arcadia Grille Restaurant.

She is survived by her children Nedra Petro, Christopher Scarfone, grandchildren Stephanie (Eric) Brooks, Anthony (Marina) Petro, Michael (Aileen) Tennill, Brendan Petro, Alyssa Scarfone, Ashley Scarfone, five great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will be received on Friday from 10:00 to 11:15 am at Christ the Servant Parish with a Mass of Christian burial to follow at 11:30 am, Rev. Fr. Scott Kopp, celebrant. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations in Joan's name may be made to Our Lady of Peace School.
