Rodney “Rod” L. Fete

Rodney “Rod” L. Fete, age 77 of Massillon, passed away on Tuesday, February 21, 2023. He was born in Canton on March 5, 1945 to the late Linus and Juanita Fete. Rod was a graduate of Timken Vocational High School, and served in the National Guard. He then became a Patrolman for the Canton City Police Department, retiring after 39 years in 2008. Rod was a member of the VFW Post #3124, the Fraternal Order of Eagles Lodge #2370, and the FOP McKinley Lodge #2. He was a Corvette enthusiast, and also enjoyed bowling and golfing. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother-in-law Richard Hare. Rod is survived by his wife Beth (Altland) Fete; daughter Heather (Philip) Labut of Cuyahoga Falls; step-daughters Stephanie Morgenroth of Anna, Texas and Lindsay King of Jackson Township; three grandchildren Jessica Labut, Alexander Labut, and Carter Morgenroth. He is also survived by his sister Sandra Hare of Perry Township; brother Gene (Jane) Fete of Massillon; many cherished nieces and nephews; several good friends, including Tommy Thomas who will miss their daily phone conversations; as well as his three cats he loved dearly. Family and friends will be received at the Rossi Family Funeral Home on Friday, February 24, 2023 from 5 to 7 p.m. FOP services will begin in the funeral home at 4:45 p.m. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday, February 25, 2023 at 12 noon at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Massillon, with Rev.
